Point Douglas Stray Cats

WHAT STARTED THIS PROJECT?

I am Kendra, I grew up in North Kildonan and lived in other neighbourhoods where there were not any stray cats around. When I moved to Point Douglas and walked my dogs, I began to notice stray cats that were sick, pregnant and kittens everywhere! I was shocked and my heart was broken. I prayed about it and realized I MUST do something and this was the beginning of Point Douglas Stray Cats.

I started trapping the cats, fixing them and finding them homes one by one. 17 cats came from one street alone!

ADOPTION FEES

KITTENS (8 months & under) - $100

CATS (over 8 months old) - $60

All the cats are vaccinated and fixed prior to adopting!

MATTIE
Mattie :This beauty was found in December and he was emaciated with his entire body covered in matted fur. He was very timid but trusted me enough once caught to allow me to slowly shave off his terrible matted fur. Since that day Mattie is become a very sweet affectionate boy.
He is a calm Kitty who prefers to lay beside you while watching tv. He like to be brushed and seems to know it helps him stay handsome.Mattie would be an ideal cat for a senior who has no other animals.
He is good with other cats, but would definitely become of being your number one fur baby.
DARLA
Darla is such a sweet sweet cat that just wants to be loved by anyone and everyone ! She's very affectionate and wants to be around you just for comfort . She does very well with Kids . She is still weary of dogs but tolerates them well ! She also does well with other cats with a slow introduction ! She does shed quite a bit but other than that she is the perfect cat ! It does take her a little bit to get used to her humans , but she warms up VERY quickly! She would do best in a home with kids or with another cat 🐱❤️ She has lots of love to give !
ARCHIE & ECLIPSE
2-year-olds Archie and Eclipse enjoy chasing feathers and each other. Their tails perk straight up when you make breakfast and they give lots of eye kisses while you feed them tube treats. The boys love other cats almost as much as they love each other and would do well in a home where they can continue improving their socialization skills.
BONDED PAIR NEED TO BE ADOPTED TOGETHER

VADER
Vader is an old, sweet soul with the cutest, quiet scratchy meow. He us a cuddly good boy with so much love to give his forever human.
CHANDLER
CHANDLER is a small but very sweet boy. He is a calm kitten who prefers snuggles and kisses over rowdy playing with other cats. He would be ideal as a solo cat and would soak up the individual attention. He has long black fur and would require brushing. He is on the smaller size, so helping him gain more weight is needed from his future home.
BLINKY
6 month old girl who is sister to Cricket. Both are timid little ones and need time & patience when going to a new home. Both love getting pets and treats. Can go on their own or together as they do love playing together.

LUNA
LUNA arrived a little scaredy cat. She was very hesitant to go play with the other house cats. But after a couple of days hiding up top the refrigerator, she realized it was safe, and she was welcome. Once Luna assesses her surroundings, she becomes a chatty, sweet girl. She will hide under the blankets at bedtime and snuggle up to you. She will greet you when you walk in the door! Luna is literally a dog/cat!! Luna is ready for her next step to forever !
HILARY
Young mom is shy but very sweet. Polydactyl front paws, healthy cat !
Will need a calm home with no dogs.
Seems possible she has been hit in her past, is very easily startled and hides her head.
BRAIN
Brain is a timid tabby who loves to catch flies and mice.
He was a street cat that survived by hunting !

He will need time to adjust but will do better with a home with another male cat to play and learn from.

BATMAN and FRECKLES are the best of friends and need to be adopted together.

FRECKLES
Freckles is a loud cat. She loves attention and seeks it.
She is very attached to Batman and they are very playful together.
He is a little rough but she is vocal, makes sure you know they are playing.
MUST BE ADOPTED WITH BATMAN, THEY ARE A BONDED PAIR.
BATMAN
Batman is a very affectionate cat who adores his human and will show you with lots of head bumps and kisses.
Batman is a long fur kitty who appreciate being brushed.
He prefers to be around other cats, especially if they are female.
He will try hard to make them his friend! He also tries very hard to snuggle with the dogs too!
Batman is aprox. 18 -2 years months old and is fully vaccinated and neutered.
He was found with his big brother Danny, along the river bank on Selkirk, terrified, emaciated, matted.
MUST BE ADOPTED WITH FRECKLES, THEY ARE A BONDED PAIR.
